First Day

We are so excited to have you join us! Here's a few things that will help your first session be a success: please, not street shoes on any equipment. Clean cheer or tumbling shoes - or bare feet.

  • What to wear - comfortable athletic wear that allows for maximum range of motion and flexibility. A yoga outfit or other workout wear is appropriate. Athletes will be spending time upside down.
  • Shoes should be clean and only worn indoors. Thin & lightweight. Cheer shoes recommended for both cheer and tumbling. Here's what our cheerleaders wear. Other options are available on Amazon.
  • No Jewelry - including earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings, watches, etc... Jewelry can be dangerous for athletes and coaches.
  • Hair - should be tightly bound, away from the face.
  • Class Format - classes each hour warm up together, laps & stretching, before breaking out.
  • Laps: Athletes get their heart rate up doing laps around each floor
  • Stretching: Warm up muscles
  • Line work: Body control & fundamentals
  • Stations: Different drills for each level — using equipment to self guide, with coaches helping at various stations spotting the most advanced skills in each level.
  • Tumbl Trak: using equipment to learn the feeling of skills that may be out of reach otherwise and typically the first place new skills technique is mastered.
  • Conditioning: at the end of each class athletes spend time strengthening themselves for a strong close to their training session
  • Athletes will be called to the floor at the beginning of class by a coach to start running laps, with all the classes.
  • Athletes can bring a bottle of water to minimize lines at water fountains - please label with their name & please no sports drinks like gatorade or Starbucks.
  • Attendance will be taken during stretching - athletes names will be called out loud.
  • After stretching, classes will breakout by level; beginner, intermediate, accelerated, or advanced. Please make sure your athlete knows which level they are in.
  • Parents are welcome to observe, but it can get full at our tables. There are additional tables in the mall and plenty on the 1st floor outside Minelli's Deli.
  • Please keep street shoes off all equipment - this includes athletes, parents, and siblings. If athletes do not have shoes, they can tumble barefoot. We highly recommend lightweight shoes for all levels above beginner.
  • Only athletes are allowed on equipment during a class or lesson - please keep siblings off mats and all equipment. Safety is our priority. Athletes are not allowed to use equipment before or after a class, unsupervised.
  • Shoe bins and coat hangers are available for jackets, bags, and shoes. No street shoes on mats or equipment.

Attendance & Makeup Tokens

Makeup tokens are issued when an athlete misses a class & it was reported 4+ hours before the class start time. Reporting absences helps our entire cheer & tumbling community so other athletes have the opportunity to use makeup tokens in classes that might otherwise be full.

  • Absences need to be reported 4+ hours before the start of a class to receive a makeup token in the account.
  • Makeup tokens are not issued until after the class has passed, no matter how early an absence is reported.
  • Makeup tokens scheduled then cancelled or not attended will not be reissued - only sign up for makeup classes you know you will attend for certain.
  • Do not show up for classes until you receive confirmation that the makeup has been scheduled.
  • All scheduled make up classes will be listed in My Account → select the student then Makeups → then under Pending Makeup Tokens you'll see all scheduled makeup classes.
  • Makeup tokens should only be used for the exact level class that the token was issued for; i.e. if an athlete is regularly enrolled in a beginner level class, they should only attend a beginner level class when using a makeup token. Athletes signed up for the incorrect level will be turned away.
  • Advanced level athletes are allowed to sign up for Advanced or Accelerated level classes.
  • All absences must be reported through the customer portal or iOS App; makeup tokens will not be issued for absences reported by email.
  • Here is a guide to reporting absences.
  • Cheer programs, including competitive cheer, cheer basics, and Tiny Tigers do not receive makeup tokens.
  • Missed enrollments for clinics and events will not receive makeup tokens, be refunded, or credited.
